Social media platforms feeling like a drag? Tired of logging in just to see ads or posts that all look and feel the same? You have to dig and search just to see the people you follow. Feel like you need to be an "influencer" or “content creator” now when all you want to do is share your work? Yeah, me too. It's gotten so bad that I don't even want to log in anymore, but I definitely still want to share my work. That puts me at a crossroads. I'm betting most of you are feeling the same way. That's why I've decided to create a community for all of us to come together again, so we can chat with other creatives about what really matters and to find our people.
I invite you all to join my new creative community, the Coven of the Creative Curiosities! I created this space for ALL creatives to come together. Most of us likely have one main creative hobby or job, but we all dabble in many forms of creativity. I wanted everyone to find a space for their creative niche and have other people to talk to about the things that matter most.
When you join, you'll see an Information section that lays out the land of our community. I find this especially helpful for people who haven't used Discord yet. Under that is a place for General Community chat. Feel free to introduce yourself and start meeting the current members. Right below that is where the meaty stuff happens: a dedicated channel for each general creative topic, so you can find your people and talk about your crafts. Below that is a section for sharing your work with others, whether it's a work in progress or a finished piece. Lastly, we have Voice channels, where you can hop in and talk to other members out loud instead of over text.
If we get enough traction and this community starts to grow, which man, I really hope it does, I'd love to throw some community events in the future. That could be talks from pros, someone sharing or teaching their methods, or anything you all might want, as long as we can make it happen virtually. I have some other ideas too, but for now, let's just get this community started and growing.
Feel free to join if you please, and invite your friends if you'd like. You don't need to know anyone from the start, but I'm sure it helps to have a friend or two along too. Let's make this space inclusive to all creatives. I can't wait to see you there!
